What are Skin Boosters?
Skin boosters are injectable treatments used to improve skin hydration and elasticity. They consist of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the body that helps to retain moisture and promote collagen production.
Skin boosters are typically administered through a series of injections into the skin, and can be used on the face, neck, hands, and other areas of the body.
The benefits of skin boosters include improved skin texture and tone, reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and increased hydration levels. They can also be used to treat acne scars and improve overall skin quality. Unlike other injectable treatments, such as Botox or dermal fillers, skin boosters do not alter the facial structure or freeze muscle movement.
Skin boosters simply enhance the natural beauty of the skin, providing a more youthful and radiant appearance. They require minimal downtime and typically last for several months.
Here at Louise Vivien, we offer a variety of skin boosters to target your skin concerns.
Skin boosters are injectable treatments that involve the use of hyaluronic acid to improve the texture and quality of the skin. They work by increasing hydration levels in the skin, stimulating collagen production and improving the overall appearance of the skin.
As we age, we lose approximately 1% of our Hyaluronic Acid (HA) stores per year after the age of 30, resulting in fine lines and loss of facial volume. Skin boosters treat the physiological depletion of Hyaluronic Acid within the skin via the infiltration of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) back into the skin’s dermis.
Skin boosters acts as the perfect skin rejuvenation treatment to improve skin texture and skin laxity whilst adding gentle volume.
Skin boosters can be used for facial enhancements to create a glowing appearance. Alternatively, this treatment can be used to rejuvenate and refresh the neck area, décolleté and hands.
Choosing to reinvigorate your skin with a skin booster can prove to have many benefits for your skin’s feel and appearance. These benefits include:
- Skin elasticity – The elasticity of our skin reduces as we age. Through skin boosters, you can reduce the wearing of the skin for a radiant and youthful appearance.
- Supreme moisture – A skin booster truly moisturises your skin through application in the skin’s dermis, working far more effectively than creams or serums with maximum rehydration effects.
- Rejuvenating the skin – The wrinkles, lines and loss of volume that all come with age can be vastly improved through skin booster treatments.
- Minimal downtime – The minimal side effects of skin boosters typically begin to clear in a much shorter timeframe than those of a full surgical procedure.
Some common side effects of Skin boosters occur, however, these side effects are usually mild and temporary, resolving within a few days after the treatment.
Side effects that may occur:
- Mild to moderate discomfort or pain
- Slight redness or swelling
- Inflammation
- Fainting
- Bleeding
- Bruising/swelling
- Risk of infection
In the event of an adverse reaction, medical help should be sought immediately.
- Immediately following treatment it is possible that small lumps will be seen at the injection sites. This is normal and temporary, they usually disappear after a few hours. Do no touch these lumps allow them to settle by themselves.
- There is occasionally some redness or itching at the site of injection. Redness may last for 1-2 days, rarely longer.
- Swelling and tenderness may be experienced for 2-3 days and bruising may occur which can last 1-10 days. All of these responses are normal and should resolve quickly.
After treatment there may be slight redness, swelling and tenderness, also an itchiness sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the product/injection, the inconvenience is temporary and generally disappears in a day or two.
Bruising is also common after any injections. Arnica gel/cream can help bruises heal more quickly.
You should see instant results after your treatment and these results will get better in the 4-6 weeks and following the recommended course of treatments to achieve optimal results
The longevity of results can vary, If however, you choose not to maintain the skin treatment with further top up treatments, your skin will return to its pre-treatment state overtime.
