After injection into the skin, Profhilo^® starts to work immediately.  It’s unique structure allows it to flow freely through the subcutaneous tissue and dermis in the target areas, creating volume evenly over the following 24 to 48 hours.  This gives Profhilo^® a significant advantage over other filler treatments, as the product doesn’t form into lumps or nodules that need to be massaged to help create the desired result.

The product remains in the skin for about 28 days, in which time it continues to stimulate the production collagen and elastin by slowly releasing the HA.  This creates both a ‘dermal scaffold’ that tightens and lifts the skin, while also boosting skin tissue quality through HA’s hydrating and stimulating action.

For treating areas in the lower face (the malar and sub-malar areas), we inject the product in five specific points – the Bio Aesthetic Points (BAPs) that help to optimise placement of the HA.

The BAP technique is unique to Profhilo^® because of its high ‘spreadability’. It makes the treatment more comfortable for you, as only 5 injection points are needed either side of the face, meaning fewer side effects and less downtime.  It also makes the injection part of the procedure quicker, as it only takes about 10-15 minutes.

We recommend 2 Profhilo^® treatments 4 weeks apart.

The improvements to the firmness, elasticity and overall quality of your skin should last around 4-6 months after your 2 sessions.

The improvements to the quality of your skin, and the lifting and tightening effect, develop subtly over several weeks.

While you may see an improvement immediately after the first treatment, the best results are visible around 4 weeks after the second treatment.  After 10-12 weeks, your skin will also appear more hydrated, healthy and youthful.

• Do not consume alcohol at least 24 hours before as it can thin the blood and increase the possibility of bruising
• Avoid medications like blood thinners, aspirin or anti-inflammatories 1 week prior to your treatment
• Avoid Botox or dermal fillers 2 weeks before your treatment
• Avoid extensive sun exposure and the use of tanning beds 3 days prior to your treatment

• Keep hydrated
• Do not consume alcohol for 24 hours
• Avoid touching the treated area
• If possible it is recommended to sleep in a supine position (on your back) for the first few nights after treatment.
• Avoid long showers and hot baths for 24 hours after treatment
• Avoid  swimming, saunas and spa environments for 48 hours
• Avoid exercise and sweating for 24 hours
• Avoid direct sunlight, sun-beds and tanning for 7 days
• Do not use any aggressive scrubs or exfoliators 
• Do not wash your face or use any products for 4-6 hours
• Do not apply makeup for 4-6  hours
• Ensure your makeup brushes and tools are cleaned and sanitised
• Avoid facials, dermaplaning, peels, laser treatments and other facial treatments for a minimum of 2 weeks  
• Sterilise glasses and sunglasses before applying onto your face
• Always wear a broad spectrum sunscreen to protect your skin (minimum 30)
• If you experience any discomfort use paracetamol and for bruising use arnica cream/gel
